It takes just 5-10 minutes for us to take an impression of your ear using a soft, putty-like material. This goes off to the manufacturer and your custom ear-piece will be ready in 1-4 weeks. For a consultation and fitting with an Audiologist at our Harley Street Clinic, email us or call 0207 487 2660.

In-Ear Monitors for Musicians

Vocalists–As a singer it’s important you’re able to hear the clarity of your vocals as well as backing vocals from other band members. Singers tend to notice a distinct improvement in pitch and tone when using in-ear monitors for musicians as they don’t have to strain they’re voices to hear. Backing-singers also find IEMS vital for blending in with the other vocalists.

Drummers–Interaction with bassists and guitarists is important so it’s vital that you can hear yourself and other musicians around you. IEMs means you can enjoy complete clarity across the full range of frequencies, improving your performance and coherence on-stage.

Keyboardists–Keyboard players are chief candidates for in-ear monitors for musicians, their instruments do not make sound acoustically and they tend to use headphones anyway.

Electric Guitarist – As the player can simply walk up to their amplifier to hear themselves when required, an electric guitarist can often find IEM a bigger adjustment. They’re isolated from their amplifier and become ‘used to’ millisecond sound delays. The benefits however make this transition worthwhile, complete clarity across a range of frequencies whilst reducing the risk of hearing damage.

Pianists- The competition from the drums, amplifiers and floor monitors forces a pianist to listen to themselves through monitors. The louder sound sources are picked up by the piano mics, compromising the sound quality and greatly increasing feedback. The use of IEMs eliminates this.

Guitarists – Problems with the acoustic guitar are similar to that of a pianist; a severe feedback risk when using wedge speaker monitors. In-ear monitors for musicians allow the acoustic guitarist to hear their instrument completely unprocessed, with all of its richness intact, achieving excellent results.
